My very first Mother's Day. A looong time coming
My very first Mother's Day
It started off with a cry from Rachel's crib that woke me. Baba changed her diaper and gave her her milk and her to me with a cup of coffee. He then presented me with a Mother's Day card "To My Wife" with a gift certificate to a spa day..........how did he know? :) :) :) Of course when the milk was all gone - the toys soon followed up to the middle of the bed from one of her toy baskets. Elbow here, knee there, foot here. Baba had long gone by now to watch TV downstairs without all of the action in the bed with Princess. Smart Baba............ But, oh what a joy. I love this thing so much that it hurts sometimes. Who needs a special day? It's Mother's day EVERY DAY for me right now.
Mom
"Wow Mommy.....what a treat!"
This Mom rarely even gives Rachel juice - but now that Motts has a brand advertised w/ less sugar for tots - I may give that a try. So, to give Princess this orange-vanilla cream soda is a VERY FIRST! And oh what a hit. But, it kept fizzing up through the spout on her sippy cup - so I had to take the lid off - another first as well :) And yes, she ended up gettting it all over her - but what are weekends for anyway?

Rachel's First Preschool Picture Spring 2008
Rachel is not too happy here in her very first school picture. There was a couple who were the photographers and when Rachel saw the male - she got all upset. I took off to go up the the school to sit with her during the session - thinking that she might be a little frightened. The female took over and really took to Rachel and some photos were taken with her on my knees and I was cropped out - but we did not purchase these (didn't like them). This was her best shot here sitting alone and this was only for the flash and then she was up like lightening running into this Mommy's arms immediately after. Poor Princess. Hopefully the future will be brighter and less scary. But, until then - this Mommy will ALWAYS try to be there for her.
