Touring Guangzhou

Wow! What a day = first breakfast together and dining out as well, back on the bus and back to the the Civil affairs office, back to our hotel for lunch and a nappy, and we tried to do the stroller walk around and Rachel was having none of it!! Very clingy today and we experienced some full on crying :( We tried to try on some squeaky shoes - but even after everything going wonderfully smooth w/ all diaper changes and being dressed up and etc up to now - we had melt down and literally screamed thru the trying on of the shoes. And afterwards every time we walked into a shop and we passed the shoes - she would cry. Dad might enjoy this since Rachel did not like Mom's shopping excursions at all!!! Might save on Dad's wallet in the long run - maybe the two of them planned that lil drama fest behind Mom's back beforehand? I did manage to buy one new outfit that will not fall off of me and then we stumbled into a HUGE square that was all lit up and w/ a 3-4 story McDonalds on all 4 corners of the large main square. Mom was in shopping heaven and Dad was out of Juan ............ boo hoo hoo for Momma :( We did have enough to ck out the McDonalds and this was a HIT w/ Rachel. She had actually given us her very first smile while walking to the square when I tilted her head down and dipped her. WE WERE ECSTATIC!!!!! Our very first giggle and smile. Then, all the way to the square - she wanted to be dipped and was actually swaying in my Bijorn and kicking her feet very happily. And of course at McDonalds - well - the pictures say it all!!! We also had our very first poopie in McDonalds and there was no where to change her. Bathrooms had lines and no baby changing stations and the bathrooms here - well I'll have to post you a pic of them at another time for those of you who haven't had this experience. Let's just say they're very DIFFERENT. We then went back to the hotel and had our very first bath - Rachel not impressed!! Didn't throw a fit - but the lips were a quivering and tears were on their way. After a fitful attempt at going to sleep - she finally gave in and is now in her crib.

Tomorrow is DADDY DAY! Mom is not going to carry Rachel and the two of them are going for a walk or stroll around the block. We're thinking she's not too fond of the facial hair. She does play w/ him and point to him when I say Baba? And when we walk side by side and he switches sides - she tilts her head on my chest to see him. Dad is soooooooo in love and once he gets her number - Mom is toast!!!

Goodnight or morning to everyone for now,

Mom GZ time = 9:56 pm
